"For a brief moment, allow yourself to be reminded of the last time you looked up at the stars and questioned the world around and within you. Remind yourself of a time when society was not solid or absolute and neither were your thoughts. Sink deep into the nostalgia that is wonder, when who you are could be maleable. We often experience this self discovery as children until we solidify an existence that is most comfortable for us.

Listening to Jesse's music is a gentle, inviting *thwack* of a sledgehammer against the walls we create in our lives. He bridges a connection between "this is just who I am" and "who do I want to be?" Listening to this album brings me back to being rescued from my house late at night as a teenager. It reminds me of late night car rides through the Hudson Valley, of tears, of talking, of listening.

This beautiful work of art is a heart-to-heart. In some songs, I'm reminded of the struggles I've faced, I feel as though I've been heard. In others, I'm the listener, and Jesse invites me into his pain, his struggle. He is powerful in this way. Miles apart, and yet somehow he still helps me grow and shifts my perspective. Allow yourself this same experience, travel along this story. Take a deep breath, press play, look up at the stars, and remember who you are and want to be. You won't be alone."
